Yarnin’ Training: Culinary & Life Skills Program
We’re proud to partner with Chef Zach Green, The Storyteller Chef, to deliver Yarnin’ Training, a culturally grounded program supporting Indigenous youth and community members, including those with disability. This hands-on program combines culinary training with essential life skills, helping participants build confidence, job readiness, and cultural pride.
Key Features:
• Hands-on cooking workshops, including traditional and modern dishes
• Life skills development such as communication, budgeting, and goal-setting
• Cultural connection through yarning circles and storytelling
• Pathways to employment, further training, or community catering opportunities
Yarnin’ Training creates a safe, inclusive, and empowering space, where everyone is equal and celebrated. As Culture Connect WA grows, we will also be offering future cooking classes, developed with the support of the community to expand learning and engagement opportunities.
We invite you to support our work or enquire about partnership opportunities to help us grow this vital program and create pathways in hospitality for Indigenous communities and beyond.
Status: Not Yet Running
We are ready to launch these programs but need your support to make them happen. Funds raised will go toward venue hire, kitchen equipment, accessibility resources, culturally appropriate materials, and program facilitation.
